LR.D’s first birthday
I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I launched LR.D.
What. A. Ride..! So much has happened.
To celebrate, we’ve freshened up the website with some beautiful new imagery shot by Ella Gradwell and featuring the lovely Leo.
LR.D garments are designed to be in season forever, so I've decided our focus this year is getting creative with what we already have. We've mixed, matched and layered to show how versatile our first collection can be! It also means there won’t be a new collection this year as LR.D aims for slow, organic growth.
In 2022, I want to continue to grow brand awareness, building on existing and new relationships. We have a few new and exciting partnerships, like LR.D’s new home at our local independent boutique Inneoss and online marketplace Lone Design Club, as well as our monthly summer pop-ups at The Drops at Coal Drops Yard.
This year I’ve learnt so much about running a business, marketing, designing, product development, different bodies, different tastes, pricing; you name it. I’ve learnt what works but also, and importantly, what doesn’t. Building a brand from scratch is incredibly challenging and I've had to adapt quickly to what is and isn’t working, constantly trying out news ideas. I’m looking forward to another year ahead of learning, growing and seeing where the journey takes LR.D.
A few highlights of 2021-2022:
Receiving the first ever production run from Maes London. It's a pretty unreal feeling seeing your vision come to life.
My 4 month long pop-up at The Regent Street Edit. This came with many HUGE challenges and some serious burn out, but it was an incredible opportunity and saw some of LR.D's first sales to the general public.
The LR.D team grew from 1 to 3 with the help of the amazing Kickstart scheme, with Polina and Sophie lending a much appreciated hand and fresh creative ideas each week.
Thanks so much to everyone for their support so far and all the support for the year ahead.
